Out on the Town

Stitches & Craft Show

The Melbourne Modern Quilt Guild was invited to stage an exhibition at the 2014 Stitches and Craft Show, showcasing modern quilting.  I was delighted to offer my quilt Lawless for this exhibition.

Royal Melbourne Show

I entered my quilt Lawless into competition at the Royal Melbourne Show and was thrilled to win first prize in the category of machine pieced and quilted by competitor. It was exhibited in the Craft Pavilion as part of the Royal Melbourne Show 2014.

Hampdon Park Quilt Project

Glasgow, Scotland, UK
Thousands of quilts covered the football pitch at Hampdon Park in a fantastic initiative to raise money and awareness for Alzheimer's Scotland.  I submitted a quilt for this exhibition, and it was sold, with all proceeds going to Alzheimer's Scotland.  Thank you, mystery buyer!

Tintern Fair

Melbourne, Australia

Before heading off to her new home in Glasgow, I had the chance to exhibit this quilt at the Tintern School Fair quilt exhibition.

Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show

Sisters, Oregon, USA
Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show is the largest outdoor quilt exhibition in the world y'all! Held in the small town of Sisters, Oregon, USA, it's been running since 1975 and features thousands of quilts hanging out in downtown Sisters.

Tintern Fair

Melbourne, Australia

Tintern Schools sure do know how to put on a Fair, and they feature an exhibition which provides quilters the chance to get their gear out.
The quilt on the left went off to Oregon, the quilt on the right lives on my bed!

Gude Cause Quilt

Scottish Parliament, Edinburgh, Scotland, UK

As part of a large scale community project to celebrate the centenary of a significant suffragette march in Edinburgh, I thought it would be a splendid idea to coordinate a quilting project.  Calling for blocks of any description in the suffragette colours of Green, White and Violet (Give Women the Vote)
we received over 150 blocks, which I stitched together and the quilt was used throughout the centenary, and then exhibited at Scottish Parliament in Holyrood. After exhibiting at Scottish Parliament, the quilt is now held as part of the official collection of the National Museum of Scotland.
